February 2021 Newsletter

A Word from Mrs. Koperno

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is hard to believe that the 2020-2021 school year is at the halfway point! In fact, the 100th day of school is February 1st! Our annual Kindergarten registration begins March 1st. If you know anyone with a child that will be eligible for the 2021-2022 kindergarten class, please spread the word about our upcoming registration.

Equally important, March 1st-5th will be Parent-Teacher conferences. Ms. Martinez will call and schedule with you toward the end of February. Additional information contained in this newsletter serves as a valuable resource to keep you updated on important information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 480-844-3965 or miranda.koperno@bgcaz.org.

We will continue virtual learning and have hopes to come back after Spring Break. I will notify parents as soon as I know the plans for after Spring Break.

If you have concerns about your child’s learning, please contact their teacher. Many are providing extra tutoring afterschool.

I LOVE TO READ MONTH

Dragons Unplugged afterschool in February! Mrs. Koperno is challenging all Dragons to turn off the TV, put away your tablet, quiet your phone and social media, and cuddle up with a good book to help celebrate I Love to Read Month. Dragons Unplugged hopefully fosters a renewed love of reading and goodwill to all of mankind! Okay! Okay! “Mankind” might have been a little heavy! But hey . . . never underestimate the power of a good book! Kids, feed your brain by reading every night, then have your parents email your teacher how many books you read for the month at the end of February. Keep track, and if you read the most books maybe, just maybe, you will win a fun-filled Dragon surprise!
